Première édition fondée sur un manuscrit de Pisendel se trouvant à Dresde. La sonate n'était disponible, jusqu'à présent, que dans une version en sol majeur, conservée aux archives de la Berliner Liedertafel. Sur la base de recherches plus récentes, Nikolaus Delius a réussi à identifier une copie de la sonate en ré majeur réalisée par Pisendel, qui se trouve à la Sächsische Landesbibliothek de Dresde, et pu ainsi attribuer l'oeuvre à Vivaldi. La version en ré majeur convainc par son registre idéal, qui donne à l'instrument soliste un rayonnement optimal. Une première édition éditée soigneusement avec un texte d'introduction.
