Description:
Geoffrey Burgon (1941-2010) was a British composer best known for his film and television scores, such as Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Brideshead Revisited, and Monty Python's Life of Brian. He studied Trumpet and Composition at the Guildhall, and At The Round Earth's Imagined Corners was dedicated to Bernard Brown, his Trumpet teacher there. Written in 1971, it is scored for Soprano, Trumpet, and Organ. It takes its text from a poem by John Donne, the seventh of his Holy Sonnets.
