Description:
Danse des Sauvages' (Dance of the Savages) is an excerpt from the ballet opera 'Les Indes Galantes' (The Courtly Indies). Rameau was one of the most important French composers (1683 - 1764). He wrote many compositions and his theoretical writings are the fundamental basis of the theory of functional harmony. This dance has become very popular and had to be arranged for wind band. It will no doubt also become a favourite item of the wind band repertoire.
