Your Love Is My Song

Uses: General, Music Appreciation Scripture: Deuteronomy 10:12-19, Psalm 18:1, Song of Songs 8:4-8, I John 4:7 Composed especially for a devoted church musician, this piece is a heartfelt expression of gratitude to God for the gift of worship through the sacred arts. A lyric melody arches with grace announcing a sense of sacred purpose sweetened at first in duet with unison men and then thickened with engaging four-part textures. The piano accompaniment is supportive and articulates the ballad style with effective arpeggios and tasteful figurations, and the optional cello is a crowning touch. I lift my voice to You, O God, for Your love is my song.
