Renowned Welsh composer Paul Mealor's Sanctuary Haunts was commissioned by the University of Aberdeen and first performed by the award-winning choir 'Polyphony. ' This sheet music is for unaccompanied SATB Choir (with divisi). The piece lasts around 12 minutes and is split into three settings: I. Sanctuario by R. S Parkes (trans. John Barnes) II. Lantern of Stone by Peter Davidson III. Locus Iste Each of these movements flows nicely into the next, while they can be performed separately if the performers so desire. Sanctuary Haunts was commissioned by the University of Aberdeen to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the consecration of King's College Chapel and was premiered by 'Polyphony' conducted by Stephen Layton at King's Chapel on 5th February 2010. It is dedicated to Professor Sir Duncan Rice. Perhaps best known for his work 'Wherever You Are', that attained Christmas number one in 2011, Paul Mealor has also composed 'Ubi Caritas et Amor' which was commissioned for the marriage of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. Sanctuary Haunts is a wonderful composition that is sure to inspire and uplift any audience.
