This is an exuberant setting of Psalm 95. A memorable rhythmic pattern is established by the organ toccata as it alternates between 4/4 and 7/8 for the outer sections of the anthem. The inner section offers a more straightforward setting of the text ending in D major, softer and a cappella. This would be an effective anthem for major festivals in the church year and during the Easter season.
