I will greatly rejoice is an anthem for harvest, first published in 1913. It is scored for SATB chorus with Organ accompaniment, and sets a passage from the book of Isaiah, which describes how the prophetrejoices in a successful harvest.
Edward Bairstow (1874-1946) was a British composer, organist and conductor. He studied under Frederick Bridge at Westminster Abbey, and later became Organist at York Minster andProfessor of Music at the University of Durham. He is best remembered for his settings of the Anglican liturgy, as well as anthems such as Blessed City, Heavenly Salem and Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence.
