Description:
Spinner is a technical tour de force that will demonstrate the skills of your saxophone section. A modern bebop melody is played in fast unisons and Supersax style solis by your saxophones, giving them an opportunity to display their dexterity. The solo section of Spinner is easily opened up to feature sax soloists, and some call-and-response lines between the brass and saxophones set up the shout section. This composition was commissioned by Ted Newton and the Moreau Catholic High School Jazz Ensemble. No doubles are required of the saxophones. Top note for lead trumpet is a written high B, and top note for lead trombone is a written high G. 5/4/4/vIBES/p/b/d/. Medium Difficult.
