Description:
A fun half-time blues with plenty of solo space to go around. The chart begins with an unaccompanied bass solo leading into a repeated groove-based line in the bass and piano that kicks off the full band's entrance. The rhythm section drops into double-time for the solos, beginning with a traditional blues in F that moves the soloist towards an extended pedal point conclusion before the shifty tune from the head returns in half-time. As an added bonus, like all good jazz charts, this one includes a quote from '80s rockers The Police in the last eight bars. Solos for bass, alto trumpet and/or guitar/piano.
