Description:
This chart begins as a pretty bossa, shifts to a samba and returns to the bossa theme at the end. Trumpets (opt'l flugelhorns) have the melody at A and the trombones have it at B. The saxes take more elaborate turn with the A theme at C. The brass return with the B theme at D in a new key. The bossa ends over a Eb minor pedal section. F begins the Samba section in G minor using similar material to the Eb minor pedal section. The rhythms during the samba section are simple enough for a high school band to play and interesting enough to make the music exciting. Open solo section.
