Description:
The chart, Groovin' Hard, as many people have said needs no description. Furthermore, it is considered by many as one of the greatest charts ever recorded by the Buddy Rich Big Band. But, since it has been rescored for little big band some sort of description is warranted. The famous sax soli is now done by two trumpets and three saxes. There are some trombone and sax section parts rescored in the piano part. There is an option to have the piano part played on an electric keyboard that has an organ patch/sound. There is also a bass solo added. Don't get scared by all these changes because this chart has been played at many jazz festivals and is still a definite crowd-pleaser even in the new format. Trumpet highest note G5. Scored for A,T,B,2Trpts,1bone, P,B,D and optional guitar. Difficult - but fun.
