Description:
A medium swing tempo rouser, this chart features baritone sax. With a one-measure pick-up break at the end of the intro, the 'big E-flat' states the melody of this B-flat blues, then takes off on its own for a series of choruses with the rest of the band in hot pursuit. Be prepared for a chase that lasts all the way to the ending and when it's all over baritone saxophonist and ensemble will know they've been in a hard-swing duel. The chart may very well liven up the set halfway through, leaving room for a nice soft ballad or two, then a flag-waving set closer.
