Description:
An advanced level big band arrangement. Scored for five saxes (AATTB), five trumpets, three tenor and one bass trombones, piano, guitar, bass and drums. First alto and first tenor double on flute. Second alto doubles on clarinet. The trumpet range goes up to a high D above the treble staff. Do It is a lively rocker, that shifts into a double-time jazz groove for solos. It is atonal, but not 12 tone (serial). The solo section changes into Dorian mode. The second tenor has the solo part, but the solo section is easily opened up for additional soloists. Difficult.
