Belgian percussionist and composer Theo Coutelier is most well-known for performing the solo part of the premiere of Darius Milhaud's Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra, Op. 109. As a composer, he wrote a variety of repertoire pieces for percussion instruments, for which there did not previously exist many works. This volume contains eighteen etudes for timpani with piano accompaniment.
